AATSR onboard ENVISAT orbits the Earth at approximately 800 km from North to South. With a swath width of 512 km a global coverage is achieved within three days. The AATSR coverage map (PDF) shows the coverage of 21 scenes with each scene having an area of approximately 512 km2. The time frame for these 21 scenes for August and September 2004 are tabulated in the second slide of this linked pdf file.
In impression (PDF), a slide is shown with the same overpass time signatures but also with the AERONET sites that reside in the appropriate scene. The AERONET sites can be found at the UAE2 data page.
